I really appreciated how clean and comfortable my room was during my stay. The smooth check-in process made everything easy as a solo traveler, allowing me to quickly head out and explore nearby landmarks like Rochester Castle, just about 2.5 km away, and enjoy a lovely stroll at the picturesque Fort Amherst, which is only around 1.5 km from the hotel. however, the breakfast hours could be more accommodating for early risers.

The exterior leaves much to be desired—it's a dated pale pink that doesn't scream 'welcome. ' The shower's water pressure isn’t ideal, and the drainage could use improvement. We had to navigate some noise issues during our stay, including unexplained knocking sounds at night, and the breakfast area felt a bit chaotic with limited options and a long wait for made-to-order items. The lobby cleanliness was a concern with dog mess found multiple times during our stay, though it was addressed promptly.

While the dining options were good, the menu lacked variety, which could be improved. Despite these concerns, the value for the price was commendable. I would consider returning, especially for the breakfast and friendly service but hope to see some updates.

I enjoyed my stay at Charles in Gillingham. The room featured a lovely view of the garden, creating a serene atmosphere. The communal areas felt artistic with the fish tank and cacti. the service during meals was a bit sluggish, but the overall experience was positive.

The staff were super friendly and the room was comfortable with all the necessary amenities, which made it easy to relax before heading out to explore the nearby Great Lines Heritage Park, just under half a kilometer away, where I enjoyed a lovely walk. also, being so close to the Royal Engineers Museum was a treat for learning about local history and culture. As a solo traveler, I appreciated the peaceful outdoor areas with beautiful water features and ponds that offered a nice spot to unwind after my city strolls.

We recently stayed for two nights and enjoyed the freshly refurbished bathroom and the delicious cooked-to-order breakfast. The only downside was the small shower. Would definitely return!
